Seena Perumal Carrington was a Mitchell Scholar from 2002-2003. She earned a Master of Law (LLM) in International Human Rights from the National University of Ireland, Galway. Seena is currently homeschooling her three young children. Previously, she was Senior Director of Consumer Engagement Solutions for Blue Cross Blue Shield of Massachusetts and served as Acting Commissioner of the Massachusetts Division of Health Care Finance and Policy. Since 2017, she has been a member of the Advisory Board of the Greater Boston YMCA Education and Training Branch.

Prior to studying in Galway, Seena was a College Scholar at Case Western Reserve University and graduated with a Master of Public Health (MPH) and a Bachelor of Arts summa cum laude in Religion. Seena is originally from Kerala, India and grew up in the Bronx, NY.  Now she resides in West Palm Beach, Florida with her husband Brendon Carrington, who is a partner at an elite family law litigation firm, and their children.
